Daniel Marr & Son has openings for both a Project Manager and an Assistant Project Manager. 

Project Manager

SUMMARY: Responsible for the management of day to day activities and requirements for several Structural Steel and Misc. Metals projects.

  1. Assume control of project documents. Coordinate and maintain drawing logs. Ensure proper documents are given to field personnel, etc.
  2. Coordinate and handle all correspondence with Fabricators, General Contractors and DMS Field Personnel to ensure all project needs are met.
  3. Attend jobsite meetings as required.
  4. Pre-planning for projects including sequencing plans, logistics, schedules, etc.
  5. Coordinate manpower and equipment requirements and assignments with DMS Superintendent.
  6. Prepare change order requests, applications for payment, and other project related documents and maintain in project management software system as required.
  7. Prepare and provide safety plans and documents and ensure plans are followed in the field.
  8. Ensure the company’s project objectives are being met, while maintaining positive relationships with client personnel.
  9. Perform additional duties as required at the direction of the Project Executive.

QUALIFICATION / REQUIREMENTS:

Educational and experience requirements include:  Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering and/or at least 5 year’s experience in structural steel construction . 

Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently and meet deadlines with little supervision.

Computer competency including Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, Bluebeam, AutoCad, etc.

Assistant Project Manager

SUMMARY: Assist project manager in preparing and maintaining project documents, attend project meetings, and assist in the day to day management for several Structural Steel and Misc. Metals projects.

  1. Assume control of project documents. Coordinate and maintain drawing logs. Ensure proper documents are given to field personnel, etc.
  2. Attend jobsite meetings as required.
  3. Assist during pre-construction planning for projects including the development of sequencing plans, logistics plans, schedules, etc.
  4. Prepare change order requests, applications for payment, and other project related documents and maintain in project management software system as required.
  5. Prepare quantity take-offs for estimating change orders.
  6. Prepare and provide safety plans and documents.
  7. Perform additional duties as required at the direction of the Project Manager.

QUALIFICATION / REQUIREMENTS:

Educational and experience requirements include:  Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering.

Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail.

Computer competency including Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, Bluebeam, AutoCad, etc.
