The Millennium Project required 14,000 tons of structural steel for the one million-square-foot, 36-story project.  The General Contractor was Bovis Lend Lease.  Photo depicts the setting of large truss members at the podium transfer floor using a Manitowoc 2250 crawler crane.

Brigham Building for the Future


Daniel Marr & Son began erecting the structural steel at the Brigham Building for the Future with very limited site access. DM&S utilized a separate crane to off-load and shake-out steel so the tower crane could maintain production to meet an aggressive schedule.  Cives Steel was the fabricator on this project with Suffolk Construction as GC.

The Broad Institute


Daniel Marr & Son Company erected the 15-story Broad Institute for GC Suffolk Construction.  The medical research facility utilized approximately 6,000 tons of steel including built up “supercolumns” that were carefully threaded through an existing garage and 60-ton plate girders to pick up the structure above.

BU Student Village


Boston University’s Student Village required 4,300 tons of steel to construct the 400,000-square-foot high rise dormitory.  The General Contractor on the project was Walsh Brothers.
