Deborah Battista

Receptionist/Switchboard Operator

Deborah Battista is the Receptionist/Switchboard Operator for Marr Scaffolding Company.  She is responsible for answering and directing phone calls to the appropriate person/department, as well as handling miscellaneous office tasks.  Previously, Deborah was a court stenographer.  She has worked at Marr since 2018.  

Deborah’s favorite part about Marr is the “wonderful people.”  She also enjoys “the cheerful and harmonious work environment.”

Additional interesting facts about Deborah: she loves to garden indoors and outdoors, as well as take walks on the beach with her little dog Lily; she has been practicing transcendental meditation for 45 years; and she hopes for a grandchild – or two!

Renee Bird is the Springfield Office Manager for Marr Scaffolding Company.  She is responsible for coordinating daily operations with the branch manager and assisting the sales team.  Renee has worked at Marr since 1996.

Springfield Area Sales Representative, Marr Scaffolding Company

Ken Boudreau is a Springfield Area Sales Representative at Marr Scaffolding Company. He is responsible for developing new business in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. Ken has been at Marr since 2014. Previously, he was a Sales Manager at Harsco.

Daniel Boudreau

Sales Representative, Marr Scaffold Division, Rhode Island Territory

Daniel “Dan” Boudreau is a Project Manager for the Scaffold Division at Marr Scaffolding Company. He is responsible for scaffolding and shoring projects for customers based out of Rhode Island, Southeast Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands. Dan has worked at Marr since 2005. Previously, he was a Territory Manager at Symons Formwork.

Dan’s favorite part about working at Marr is “encountering a wide array of sophisticated industries, unique challenges, and result driven requirements under tight time restraints,” he says. “Each project has its own set of obstacles and restrictions that demand tailor made solutions. Working with customers under such conditions fosters a bond through the pursuit of common goals, the implementation of custom design, and the execution of technical field action.”

Additional interesting facts from Dan: “I am a fifth generation Bostonian who harbors a deep affinity for history. I greatly enjoy traversing the century old buildings and historic landmarks on restoration projects beset amongst roads long traveled, many that splinter, quite literally, from the cradle of liberty.”

Rich Burns

President, Daniel Marr & Son Company

Richard “Rich” Burns, Jr. is the President of Daniel Marr & Son Company.  He is responsible for the General Management of Daniel Marr & Son including oversight of all estimating, sales, project management, field operations and administration for numerous steel and precast erection projects.  Rich has worked at Marr since 1996.

Rich’s favorite part about working at Marr is how each day presents new and exciting challenges and opportunities.  Rich says, “I love driving around the city and seeing all of the buildings we played a role in. It is wonderful to collaborate with so many great people and skilled craftsman.”

Additional interesting facts from Rich: “I enjoy camping, being outdoors and spending time with my family.”

Anthony Cavallo

Payroll Administrator, Marr Scaffolding Company

Anthony Cavallo is the Payroll Administrator at Marr Scaffolding Company. Anthony is responsible for processing the union payroll for Marr Scaffolding Company, Isaac Blair & Co.  and SafLok. He is also responsible for the maintenance of the payroll master file and various other accounting functions. Anthony has been at Marr since 2021. Previously, he served as a Payroll Specialist at Keolis Transit America and as an Employee Data Administrator at Procter & Gamble and The Gillette Company.

Anthony holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Suffolk University. Outside of work he is very involved in various charitable organizations supporting cancer research and enjoys studying meteorology. 

Tanya Codero

Billing Specialist

Tanya Codero is a Billing Specialist at Marr Scaffolding Company. Tanya is responsible for processing scaffolding and power contracts, shipping tickets and returns. She also works with sales representatives and operations, as well as assists customers with billing questions. Tanya has worked at Marr since 2019.

Tanya’s favorite part about working at Marr is how nice and helpful everyone is. She says, “I feel very comfortable here and am getting great training.”

Thomas “Tom” Connell is the Accounting Manager at Marr Crane & Rigging. He is responsible for Accounts Payable and Receivable, Payroll and overall accounting operations for the company. Tom has worked at Marr since 2003.

Kerry Cotter

Billing Specialist

Kerry Cotter is a Billing Specialist at Marr Scaffolding Company. She is responsible for creating and maintaining invoices for material and equipment going out and returning to our scaffold, shoring and aerial platform yards. Kerry has worked at Marr since 1995.

Nicole Davy

Billing Supervisor

Nicole Davy is the Billing Supervisor for Marr Scaffolding Company. She is responsible for editing and updating all MSC customer invoicing for Scaffolding, Power, Concrete, Hydro Mobile, Dry Air, Angel Wings, Bleachers, Power Service and Installation & Dismantle jobs. She also provides reporting to management and sales staff to analyze billing, collections and job profitability. Nicole has worked at Marr since 2004. Previously, she was a Dispatcher for Accurate Communications Inc.

Nicole’s favorite part about Marr is the people. She says, “I love my extended family here at Marr!”

Nicole’s professional goal is to always do the best job she can do in whatever position she’s in. Her personal goal is to travel the world.

Rick DeAmelio

Director, Equipment Maintenance

Richard “Rick” DeAmelio is the Director of Equipment Maintenance at Marr Scaffolding Company. He is responsible for all equipment and vehicle records, registrations and permits; assisting with repairs, maintenance and tracking of equipment, vehicles and properties; researching and sourcing MRO parts and supplies; and overseeing telecommunications equipment and vendors. Rich has worked at Marr since 1975. Previously, he was a Manager at Stevens Automotive Service.

Rick’s favorite experience at Marr is researching and sourcing parts and services.

Rick’s professional goal is to have a clean desk top.

Additional interesting facts about Rich: He is a dog trainer and competes with his two dogs – a 12 year-old Australian Cattle Dog and a six-year-old Border Collie.

Bob Dembitzki

Vice President, Scaffold and Shoring

Robert “Bob” Dembitzki is Vice President for Marr Scaffolding Company. He is responsible for overseeing the Scaffold, Shoring and Engineering divisions, including sales and labor. He also ensures that service, safety and best practices are put to use on all projects. Bob has worked at Marr since 2012. Previously, he was the Northeast District Sales Manager at Harsco Infrastructure.

Bob’s favorite part about Marr is that the company is “a fabric of the construction community,” he says. “Whether its scaffold, cranes or even a scissor lift, our footprint is left on so many projects in the city.”

Bob says his professional goal plays a role in almost every project he comes across. “It’s being part of a design or concept that is put into use that sets Marr apart from others both efficiently and safely,” he says.

Daniel Flannery

CFO, Vice President of Administration

Daniel “Dan” Flannery is Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Administration for The Marr Companies. He is responsible for assisting the CEO and Executive Team in directing the administrative operations of all the Marr entities, with a focus on the development and implementation of corporate plans and policies. Dan joined Marr in 2018. Previously, he served for eight years as the Finance Director and Chief Financial Officer for Bond Brothers. 

Dan’s favorite experience at Marr is helping employees achieve their full potential by being their sounding board.

Christopher “Chris” Foley is Vice President at Isaac Blair & Co. He is responsible for providing overall management direction for specialty projects and developing new business opportunities with existing clients. Chris has worked at Isaac Blair since 2017. Previously, he worked for Plumb House, Inc.

Chris’s favorite experience at Marr was working with and getting to know the field crew on an overnight emergency shoring job.

Kathy Fyfe

Director of Marketing

Kathy is the Marketing Director at The Marr Companies. She is responsible for ensuring that messages and images about the Marr companies are delivered consistently so that the “Marr Brand,” its products, services and performance, is correctly represented in the marketplace. Kathy has worked at Marr since 1997, mostly part time until October 2013. Previously, she was Vice President of Corporate Relations at Perini Corporation.

Kathy’s favorite part about her position at Marr is the array of activity company-wide that she’s involved with.  “There is something new about every day which is energizing and motivating,” she says. “The requirements of the position can be very dynamic and I enjoy the variability.”

Kathy’s professional and personal goal has always been to enjoy and appreciate the journey. She says, “It is important to me to love what I do, to be able to add value to whatever project I am working on and to have opportunities to be creative.  Continuing to learn new things, having a certain degree of independence and feeling productive contribute to my sense of personal achievement, even though my successes are probably not as great as I wish them to be and my failures not as awful as I fear them to be (at least I hope so).”

Additional interesting facts from Kathy: “For our honeymoon, my husband and I purchased Around-the-World Air Tickets and traveled in an easterly direction around the globe for three months … and we are still married and still traveling after 28 years!”

Louie Giunta

Vice President, Isaac Blair & Co., Inc.

Louie “Lou” Giunta is the Vice President of Isaac Blair & Co. He is responsible for initiating project management of all projects; evaluating and predicting the scope of work including engineering and design; appraising and estimating total cost of projects; serving as liaison between General Contractor and engineer, as well as chief coordinator and communicator to field leadership; assisting in trouble-shooting and problem-solving during the duration of projects; overseeing all necessary inspections; acting as chief coordinator during emergency response work; and being in contact with customers and expanding the growing customer base. Lou has been with Marr since 1968, first working as General Manager of Saf-Lok Scaffolding.

Lou’s favorite part about working at Marr has been feeling as though he’s among his extended family. “I have been very lucky to have worked with and still work with some of the most amazing people, many of whom are my good friends,” he says.

Lou’s personal goal is to to be the best grandfather he can be to his six grandchildren. “When I was younger, it didn’t really occur to me how fast time would go, and now my kids are parents,” he says. “I am blessed to have the chance to do things with them that I may have not done with my kids when they were small.” 

As for his professional goal, Lou says, “With the help of a great team, I have been able to put the Isaac Blair Company on a course that has risen to a point where we have set a standard of integrity and professionalism in the industry. My goal is to continue to maintain that status as long as I am Vice President. A wise old friend once told me, ‘When you stop, you rust.’ So at my age I have no desire to retire because working keeps me feeling young.

Additional interesting facts from Lou: “My first language is Italian. I am an aviculture and exhibitor of the English Budgerigar. I enjoy Karaoke and sing a mean rendition of ‘My Way’!”

Christopher “Chris” Hadorn is a Project Manager and Sales Representative for the Shoring Division at Marr Scaffolding Company. He is responsible for procuring shoring projects through site visits and reviewing drawings, generating bid estimates and, upon award, managing projects until completion. Chris has worked at Marr since 2010. Previously, he worked for Dryair, Inc. and Hausman Steel Corporation.

Chris’ favorite part about Marr is the good-natured employees and humorous situations that arise on a daily basis.

A personal goal of Chris’ is to grow with his two young sons and provide them all the opportunities in life that he had.

Michael “Mike” Jackman is the Parts Manager for the Aerial Lift Division at Marr Scaffolding Company. He is responsible for procuring repair parts and all necessary supplies to repair scissor lifts, boom lifts, telehandlers, fork lifts and vans for the company and customers. Mike has worked at Marr since 2017.

Mike’s favorite part about Marr is the people. Since walking in the door, he says it’s felt like home. “Everyone has been very welcoming, friendly and helpful.” Outside of Marr, Mike hopes to earn a degree in Business Management and Game Theory/Analysis. He is an avid sports fan, loves playing gold, poker and spending time with his family and two cats.

Eric Laurie is the Chief Estimator for Daniel Marr & Son Company.  He is responsible for all bidding activities including the preparation of material take-offs, cost estimates, scope review and proposal development for both steel and precast projects.  Eric has worked at Marr since 1998.  Previously, he served as a Deck Officer in the U.S. Merchant Marine.

Eric says he enjoys working for a company that “has weathered over 120 years in the construction industry and that still continues to grow and prosper with the changing times.”

Lauren joined Marr in 2022.

Jeff Marr, Jr.

Jeff Marr, Jr. is President of Marr Scaffolding Company. He works with management, sales teams across all Marr companies and divisions, operations and Marr’s broad customer base to strengthen partnerships and to develop growth opportunities for the business. Previously, Jeff served as Vice President, Business Development, and prior to that as Aerial Lift & Swing Stage sales representative/project manager (Boston/Cambridge) for Marr Scaffolding Company. He has worked at Marr since 2008.

Jeff’s favorite part about working at Marr is having the opportunity to interact with the city of Boston in a way few would think possible. According to him, “A Marr hard hat is a backstage pass to Boston!”

As for his professional goals, Jeff says he aims “To have multiple defining moments. To never stop learning. To make an impact on Boston.”

Jeffrey T. Marr

Vice President, Marr Scaffolding Company

Jeffrey T. Marr is the Vice President of Marr Scaffolding Company. Jeff is responsible for the sales, rentals and operations for the company. He also supervises the management of branch and all warehouse operations. Jeff joined Marr in 1977.

Jeff’s most enjoyable experience working at Marr was the expansion of the company in the 80s and 90s, which included the acquisition of new warehousing and equipment lines, as well as the addition of new personnel. More recently, working with his two children, Jeff Jr. and Katherine, have taken over the “favorite” position.

Jennifer Marr is the Office Administrator at Marr Crane & Rigging. She is responsible for processing all daily crane and rigging billing; all monthly AIA Rigging and Elevator Hoist requisitions; AON Ins/BRJP payroll reports; and credit card payments. Also, she provides customer service, completes monthly Union H&W benefits reports and reviews, validates and notarizes lien waivers. Jennifer has worked at Marr since 2011. Previously, she was a Customer Service Manager for Wal-Mart USA and Wal-Mart International Accounts at Sterilite Corporation.

Jennifer’s favorite part about Marr is working with all the people on the MC&R team.

As for her professional goal, Jennifer says it’s her future “Retirement… just kidding!”

Katherine Marr

Communications Manager

Katherine Marr is the Communications Manager at The Marr Companies. She is responsible for assisting the Director of Marketing in the communications and marketing for all four businesses at Marr. She is involved in maintaining the company website, creating content and guiding Marr’s social media campaign. Additionally, she assists in the writing and editing of all company publications and works on various special projects. Katherine has worked at Marr since 2014. Previously, she was an Advancement Associate at The Fessenden School.

Katherine’s favorite part about Marr is the people. She says, “Not only do I enjoy seeing family members at the office, but I also enjoy getting to know the extended family here – my coworkers. Everyone is passionate about their work and dedicated to doing their best as individuals and for the company as a whole.”

Katherine’s professional goal is to incorporate her graduate degree (M.Ed) into either her professional or volunteer work someday.

Dave Marr, Sr. is President of Marr Crane & Rigging. He is responsible for managing the sales and operations of crane and elevator rentals, along with the supervision of the Rigging and Warehouse divisions. Dave has worked at Marr since 1981.

Dave’s favorite part about Marr is the daily examples of the dedication shown by employees. “There isn’t a day that I am not reminded that this company is built upon the ‘we’ principle,” he says.

Charles’ favorite part about Marr is that it’s allowed him to work with a variety of product lines from shoring and forming, scaffolding and Hydro-mobile (Mast Climber) swing staging. He credits this experience with helping broaden his knowledge of the construction business as a whole. Charles says, “My professional goal is to apply my knowledge of the construction products and engineering to help the customers complete their construction projects in an economical and profitable manner.”

Ron Picnia

Field Foreman

Ron Picnia is the Sales/Senior Project Manager for the Springfield Office at Marr Scaffolding Company. In Sales, he is responsible for recognizing the customers’ needs and converting to a solution to ensure profitability and good customer relations. For project management, he is responsible for scheduling Installation & Dismantle crews and monitoring projects from start to finish. Ron has worked at Marr since 2008. Previously, he was a Salesman and General Foreman for Safway Services.

Ron’s favorite part about working at Marr is the people. In particular, he says, “the family atmosphere and how each individual’s role is important in helping one another achieve success.”

Ron’s professional goal is to achieve success in whatever it is he does.

Tom Ritchie

Inside Sales Coordinator, Aerial Lifts

Thomas “Tom” Ritchie is an Inside Sales Coordinator for the Aerial Lifts Division at Marr Scaffolding Company. He is responsible for coordinating with sales, service, and customers to deliver Powered Equipment to job sites. “Customer service and satisfaction is of the utmost importance,” says Tom. Before coming to Marr in 2008, Tom worked at Trinity Pub and The Wild Rover as a Manager.

Tom’s favorite part about working at Marr is the people. He considers them to be “very courteous, friendly and professional.”

Tom’s professional goal is to work in a specific sales territory in the Power Division, where he believes he can be most successful in managing and cultivating the area’s business.

Outside of work, Tom stays active on the ice: “I enjoy coaching kids and teaching them the game of hockey.”

John Seward is the Field Operations Manager for Daniel Marr & Son Company. John is responsible for overseeing all field activities and providing direction and support to foremen, playing a key role in the planning and executing of projects.

John Snow

Director of Operations, Daniel Marr & Son Company

John Snow is the Director of Operations at Daniel Marr & Son Company.  He is responsible for overseeing and directing project management and field operations.  Previously, John worked at Skanska Building USA as a Senior Project Manager.  He has worked at Marr since 2018.

John prides himself on joining a 120 year old company with a proven track record and a rich history of steel construction in the New England Area.  His professional goal is to continue to contribute to the success of the company.

Additional interesting facts about John: he has worked in the erection, fabrication and construction management of many high profile projects like the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center and Gillette Stadium.

Fred (Butch) Spring

Operations Manager / Installation & Dismantle Coordinator, Marr Scaffolding Company

Fred “Butch” Spring is an Operations Manager and Installation & Dismantle Coordinator for Marr Scaffolding Company. His responsibilities include overseeing the daily operations at MSC, as well as coordinating daily labor requirements and job materials for Installation & Dismantle crews and MSC yard personnel. Butch has worked at Marr since 1989. Previously, he was an Estimator for Triple G Scaffolding and a Salesman at ATS Equipment.

Butch says his favorite part about working at Marr are his co-workers: “They make the working environment great. We spend so much time together each day. We are like a big family.”

Butch’s personal and professional goals are to spend more time with his children and plan better for the future ahead.

Additional interesting facts from Butch: “While working at Marr, I returned to college twice. I earned my Associate’s Degree from Quincy College. Then I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts at Boston with concentrations in English and Business.”

Eric Stalmon

Vice President, Safety and Training

Eric Stalman is the Vice President of Safety and Training for The Marr Companies. He is responsible for providing support for all company safety programs, as well as providing training and education to Marr employees and customers. Eric worked at Marr from 2006 to 2012 before returning to his current position in June of 2015. Previously, Eric was the Safety Manager at Liberty Construction Services & Equipment.

Additional interesting facts about Eric: He is a state certified EMT for over 20 years and is a former Lieutenant on the Waltham Auxiliary Fire Department.

Beverly Sullivan

Project Administrator, Daniel Marr & Son Company

Beverly “Bev” Sullivan is a Project Administrator for Daniel Marr & Son Company. She oversees the DM&S field payroll and union benefits, making sure they are completed correctly. Bev is also responsible for DM&S Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables, along with handling all financial paper work for DM&S projects from coding to cost reports. Bev has worked at Marr since 2002. Previously, she worked as a National Recruiter for Summit National in Braintree, MA.

Bev’s favorite part about working at Marr is the never-ending changing work load. She says, “There is always something different and challenging being thrown at me.” She also enjoys the independent and relaxed work environment.

A professional goals of Bev’s is to have every DM&S report completed on time. A personal goal of Bev’s: “To get through a day without talking to myself at my desk.”

Another interesting fact from Bev: “I actually look forward to coming to work to see my ‘DM&S work family.’”

Administrative Purchasing Manager

Peter Tilley is the Administrative Purchasing Manager at Marr Scaffolding Company. He is responsible for various accounting activity for all companies and oversees purchasing for Marr Scaffolding. Peter has been at Marr since 2008.

Michael “Mike” Travers

Project Manager, Marr Crane & Rigging

Michael “Mike” Travers is a Project Manager for Marr Crane & Rigging. He has been with Marr since 2018. 

Helen Tully

Accountant

Helen Tully is an Accountant at Marr Scaffolding Company. She is responsible for monthly journal entries, Union Fringes, Bank Reconciliations, Administration Payroll and Account Analysis. Helen has worked at Marr since 2000.

Haywood Vo

Associate Engineer, Marr Scaffolding Company

Haywood Vo is an Associate Engineer at Marr Scaffolding Company. His responsibilities are to design and review drawings of construction projects in compliance with customer contract requirements and specifications. Haywood has worked at Marr since 2021. Previously, he worked as a Field Engineer for Jay Cashman, Inc.

Haywood holds a bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He lives close-by in Dorchester and in his spare time, as an auto-buff, enjoys modifying and rebuilding cars.

Dave Vozzella

Sales representative, Aerial Lifts

Dave Vozzella is the Senior Sales Representative for the Aerial Lift Division at Marr Scaffolding Company. He is responsible for managing territory North of Boston, including New Hampshire and Maine. He specializes in the sales and rental of equipment, as well as the project management of suspended scaffold. Dave has been at Marr since 1999. Previously, he was a Sales Representative at Sterritt Lumber Co.

Dave’s favorite experience at Marr is meeting and exceeding client demands, and making sure he helps them do their job efficiently and safely.

Additional interesting facts from Dave: “I enjoy the outdoors, coaching my kids’ sports teams, and following local college and professional sports.”

Shannon Webb

Administrative Assistant, Daniel Marr & Son Company

Shannon Webb is a Payroll Assistant for Daniel Marr & Son Company. She is responsible for inputting the weekly payroll for the Local 7 Iron Workers. Shannon has been at DM&S since 2013. Previously, she worked as a Receptionist and Credit Assistant at Marr Scaffolding Company.

Shannon’s favorite experience at Marr was winning the 2011 Marr Annual Bake off with her beautiful Kit Kat cake.

Keith Wells

Sales Representative, Aerial Lifts

Keith Wells is a Sales Representative for the Aerial Lift Division at Marr Scaffolding Company. He is responsible for managing accounts in the South Shore area, and also serves as a Project Manager on swing stage assemblies. Keith has been at Marr since 2000.

Keith’s favorite experience at Marr is being able to visit job sites and see buildings being built from start to finish.

Paula Wiles

Vice President, Human Resources

Paula Wiles is Vice President of Human Resources for The Marr Companies. She is responsible for the management of Human Resources functions, including Benefits, 401(K), Recruiting, Employee Relations, etc. She is also responsible for liability claims, statistical safety reporting and Pre-Qualification management. Paula has worked at Marr since 2001. Previously, she was an HR Generalist for Clean Harbors Environmental Services.

Paula’s favorite part about Marr is the people. She says, “The employees at Marr are truly the companies’ most valuable asset. We employ some of the most knowledgeable, hard-working people in the industry. And, they are a fun group to be around!”

Paula’s professional goal is to obtain a college degree.

Another interesting fact from Paula: “I own a business specializing in homemade pet gifts – Doggone Delights.”

Danny Young

Systems Manager

Danny Young is Systems and Network Manager for all four businesses at the Marr Companies. He is responsible for overseeing and keeping network hardware running in all four locations, as well as making sure all vendor software works together. Before coming to Marr, Danny was a Senior Programmer Analyst and wrote software in RPG, SDA, OCL, SEU, and COBOL languages.

Danny’s favorite experience working at Marr is the family and team culture. He says, “Everyone helps and cares for one another. They will lend their experience to solve tasks at hand. It is a great feeling to be part of a team.”

As computers and networks become more complicated and important to the Marr Companies, Danny’s goal is to have “zero down time.” According to him, “If the systems are down, then the information stops moving.”

Additional interesting facts from Danny: “Due to a handicap caused by an accident at age 19, I have accomplished what many could not with the use of only one hand. Also, my fresh water fishing skills are so finely tuned I can tell you if the fish are biting simply by smelling the lake air.”
