Deborah’s favorite part about Marr is the “wonderful people.”  She also enjoys “the cheerful and harmonious work environment.”

Additional interesting facts about Deborah: she loves to garden indoors and outdoors, as well as take walks on the beach with her little dog Lily; she has been practicing transcendental meditation for 45 years; and she hopes for a grandchild – or two!

Daniel “Dan” Boudreau is a Project Manager for the Scaffold Division at Marr Scaffolding Company. He is responsible for scaffolding and shoring projects for customers based out of Rhode Island, Southeast Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands. Dan has worked at Marr since 2005. Previously, he was a Territory Manager at Symons Formwork.

Dan’s favorite part about working at Marr is “encountering a wide array of sophisticated industries, unique challenges, and result driven requirements under tight time restraints,” he says. “Each project has its own set of obstacles and restrictions that demand tailor made solutions. Working with customers under such conditions fosters a bond through the pursuit of common goals, the implementation of custom design, and the execution of technical field action.”

Additional interesting facts from Dan: “I am a fifth generation Bostonian who harbors a deep affinity for history. I greatly enjoy traversing the century old buildings and historic landmarks on restoration projects beset amongst roads long traveled, many that splinter, quite literally, from the cradle of liberty.”

Richard “Rich” Burns, Jr. is the President of Daniel Marr & Son Company.  He is responsible for the General Management of Daniel Marr & Son including oversight of all estimating, sales, project management, field operations and administration for numerous steel and precast erection projects.  Rich has worked at Marr since 1996.

Rich’s favorite part about working at Marr is how each day presents new and exciting challenges and opportunities.  Rich says, “I love driving around the city and seeing all of the buildings we played a role in. It is wonderful to collaborate with so many great people and skilled craftsman.”

Anthony Cavallo is the Payroll Administrator at Marr Scaffolding Company. Anthony is responsible for processing the union payroll for Marr Scaffolding Company, Isaac Blair & Co.  and SafLok. He is also responsible for the maintenance of the payroll master file and various other accounting functions. Anthony has been at Marr since 2021. Previously, he served as a Payroll Specialist at Keolis Transit America and as an Employee Data Administrator at Procter & Gamble and The Gillette Company.

Anthony holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Suffolk University. Outside of work he is very involved in various charitable organizations supporting cancer research and enjoys studying meteorology.

She also provides reporting to management and sales staff to analyze billing, collections and job profitability. Nicole has worked at Marr since 2004. Previously, she was a Dispatcher for Accurate Communications Inc.

Richard “Rick” DeAmelio is the Director of Equipment Maintenance at Marr Scaffolding Company. He is responsible for all equipment and vehicle records, registrations and permits; assisting with repairs, maintenance and tracking of equipment, vehicles and properties; researching and sourcing MRO parts and supplies; and overseeing telecommunications equipment and vendors. Rich has worked at Marr since 1975. Previously, he was a Manager at Stevens Automotive Service.

Robert “Bob” Dembitzki is Vice President for Marr Scaffolding Company. He is responsible for overseeing the Scaffold, Shoring and Engineering divisions, including sales and labor. He also ensures that service, safety and best practices are put to use on all projects. Bob has worked at Marr since 2012. Previously, he was the Northeast District Sales Manager at Harsco Infrastructure.

Bob’s favorite part about Marr is that the company is “a fabric of the construction community,” he says. “Whether its scaffold, cranes or even a scissor lift, our footprint is left on so many projects in the city.”

Bob says his professional goal plays a role in almost every project he comes across. “It’s being part of a design or concept that is put into use that sets Marr apart from others both efficiently and safely,” he says.

Daniel “Dan” Flannery is Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Administration for The Marr Companies. He is responsible for assisting the CEO and Executive Team in directing the administrative operations of all the Marr entities, with a focus on the development and implementation of corporate plans and policies. Dan joined Marr in 2018. Previously, he served for eight years as the Finance Director and Chief Financial Officer for Bond Brothers.

Kathy is the Marketing Director at The Marr Companies. She is responsible for ensuring that messages and images about the Marr companies are delivered consistently so that the “Marr Brand,” its products, services and performance, is correctly represented in the marketplace. Kathy has worked at Marr since 1997, mostly part time until October 2013. Previously, she was Vice President of Corporate Relations at Perini Corporation.

Kathy’s favorite part about her position at Marr is the array of activity company-wide that she’s involved with.  “There is something new about every day which is energizing and motivating,” she says. “The requirements of the position can be very dynamic and I enjoy the variability.”

Kathy’s professional and personal goal has always been to enjoy and appreciate the journey. She says, “It is important to me to love what I do, to be able to add value to whatever project I am working on and to have opportunities to be creative.  Continuing to learn new things, having a certain degree of independence and feeling productive contribute to my sense of personal achievement, even though my successes are probably not as great as I wish them to be and my failures not as awful as I fear them to be (at least I hope so).”

Additional interesting facts from Kathy: “For our honeymoon, my husband and I purchased Around-the-World Air Tickets and traveled in an easterly direction around the globe for three months … and we are still married and still traveling after 28 years!”

Louie “Lou” Giunta is the Vice President of Isaac Blair & Co. He is responsible for initiating project management of all projects; evaluating and predicting the scope of work including engineering and design; appraising and estimating total cost of projects; serving as liaison between General Contractor and engineer, as well as chief coordinator and communicator to field leadership; assisting in trouble-shooting and problem-solving during the duration of projects; overseeing all necessary inspections; acting as chief coordinator during emergency response work; and being in contact with customers and expanding the growing customer base. Lou has been with Marr since 1968, first working as General Manager of Saf-Lok Scaffolding.

Lou’s favorite part about working at Marr has been feeling as though he’s among his extended family. “I have been very lucky to have worked with and still work with some of the most amazing people, many of whom are my good friends,” he says.

Lou’s personal goal is to to be the best grandfather he can be to his six grandchildren. “When I was younger, it didn’t really occur to me how fast time would go, and now my kids are parents,” he says. “I am blessed to have the chance to do things with them that I may have not done with my kids when they were small.” 

As for his professional goal, Lou says, “With the help of a great team, I have been able to put the Isaac Blair Company on a course that has risen to a point where we have set a standard of integrity and professionalism in the industry. My goal is to continue to maintain that status as long as I am Vice President. A wise old friend once told me, ‘When you stop, you rust.’ So at my age I have no desire to retire because working keeps me feeling young.

Additional interesting facts from Lou: “My first language is Italian. I am an aviculture and exhibitor of the English Budgerigar. I enjoy Karaoke and sing a mean rendition of ‘My Way’!”

Michael “Mike” Jackman is the Parts Manager for the Aerial Lift Division at Marr Scaffolding Company. He is responsible for procuring repair parts and all necessary supplies to repair scissor lifts, boom lifts, telehandlers, fork lifts and vans for the company and customers. Mike has worked at Marr since 2017.

Mike’s favorite part about Marr is the people. Since walking in the door, he says it’s felt like home. “Everyone has been very welcoming, friendly and helpful.” Outside of Marr, Mike hopes to earn a degree in Business Management and Game Theory/Analysis. Penny Knight is the System Support / Information Systems for all four division of the Marr Companies. She oversees the daily performance of the computer system, and installs and performs repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment. Penny has worked at Marr since 1989.

Jeff’s favorite part about working at Marr is having the opportunity to interact with the city of Boston in a way few would think possible. According to him, “A Marr hard hat is a backstage pass to Boston!”

Jeffrey T. Marr is the Vice President of Marr Scaffolding Company. Jeff is responsible for the sales, rentals and operations for the company. He also supervises the management of branch and all warehouse operations. Jeff joined Marr in 1977.

Jeff’s most enjoyable experience working at Marr was the expansion of the company in the 80s and 90s, which included the acquisition of new warehousing and equipment lines, as well as the addition of new personnel. More recently, working with his two children, Jeff Jr. and Katherine, have taken over the “favorite” position.

Also, she provides customer service, completes monthly Union H&W benefits reports and reviews, validates and notarizes lien waivers. Jennifer has worked at Marr since 2011. Previously, she was a Customer Service Manager for Wal-Mart USA and Wal-Mart International Accounts at Sterilite Corporation.

Jennifer’s favorite part about Marr is working with all the people on the MC&R team.

Communications Manager

Katherine Marr is the Communications Manager at The Marr Companies. She is responsible for assisting the Director of Marketing in the communications and marketing for all four businesses at Marr. She is involved in maintaining the company website, creating content and guiding Marr’s social media campaign. Additionally, she assists in the writing and editing of all company publications and works on various special projects. Katherine has worked at Marr since 2014. Previously, she was an Advancement Associate at The Fessenden School.

Katherine’s favorite part about Marr is the people. She says, “Not only do I enjoy seeing family members at the office, but I also enjoy getting to know the extended family here – my coworkers. Everyone is passionate about their work and dedicated to doing their best as individuals and for the company as a whole.”

Katherine’s professional goal is to incorporate her graduate degree (M.Ed) into either her professional or volunteer work someday.

Charles Pham is Manager of the Engineering Department at Marr Scaffolding Company. Before coming to Marr in 2008, Tom worked at Trinity Pub and The Wild Rover as a Manager.

Tom’s favorite part about working at Marr is the people. He considers them to be “very courteous, friendly and professional.”

Tom’s professional goal is to work in a specific sales territory in the Power Division, where he believes he can be most successful in managing and cultivating the area’s business.

Bev is also responsible for DM&S Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables, along with handling all financial paper work for DM&S projects from coding to cost reports. Bev has worked at Marr since 2002. Previously, she worked as a National Recruiter for Summit National in Braintree, MA.

Bev’s favorite part about working at Marr is the never-ending changing work load. She says, “There is always something different and challenging being thrown at me.” She also enjoys the independent and relaxed work environment.

Danny Young is Systems and Network Manager for all four businesses at the Marr Companies. He is responsible for overseeing and keeping network hardware running in all four locations, as well as making sure all vendor software works together. Before coming to Marr, Danny was a Senior Programmer Analyst and wrote software in RPG, SDA, OCL, SEU, and COBOL languages.

Danny’s favorite experience working at Marr is the family and team culture. He says, “Everyone helps and cares for one another. They will lend their experience to solve tasks at hand. It is a great feeling to be part of a team.”

As computers and networks become more complicated and important to the Marr Companies, Danny’s goal is to have “zero down time.” According to him, “If the systems are down, then the information stops moving.”

Additional interesting facts from Danny: “Due to a handicap caused by an accident at age 19, I have accomplished what many could not with the use of only one hand. Also, my fresh water fishing skills are so finely tuned I can tell you if the fish are biting simply by smelling the lake air.”
